Introductory training course on the physical protection of nuclear facilities

This training course is the basic one in the system of training of nuclear security specialists.

The training course discusses the main provisions of international documents and fundamental principles of the physical protection regime, as well as nuclear security culture.

The design basis threats and analytical work at a nuclear facility are studied. The participants learn the organization of the access control and security of at nuclear facilities. The training course rises awareness in information security and transportation of nuclear materials.

Along with the organizational matters this training embraces a complex of engineering and technical means of physical protection, including the equipment for intrusion detection and delay, access control and management systems, check points' inspection systems. The topic of countering unmanned aerial vehicles is studied. The theme of training and recruitment of the physical protection personnel is also in focus.

Practical exercises in training laboratories, at the training grounds of engineering and technical facilities, central alarm station, pedestrian and vehicle checkpoints take up 30% and more of the total training course time.
