Introductory training course on the organization of work of the pass offices of NPP

The training course covers the application of regulatory instruments in the area of nuclear security access control at a nuclear facility.

The training course discusses the principles of development of physical protection systems (PPS), implementation of the defence-in-depth approach, as well as purpose and objectives of pass offices.

The training course presents recommendation on pass offices activities at nuclear facilities, equipment of checkpoints and premises of pass offices.

The participants study various checkpoints' procedures that are applied for people and vehicles in normal and in emergency conditions. Interaction of pass offices employees and guard force unit.

The training course embraces various types of badges, methods for identification of employees, biometric identification devices, physical barriers and equipment for inspection at checkpoints.

It also addresses the organization of the inspection of employees of the pass office and security forces at the facility checkpoints. 

The training course describes automated workplace of the pass offices? Including structure, composition, technical characteristics, and software. The personnel database and applications for passes, developing reports on the work with employee passes.

The training course provides recommendations on recruitment the pass offices staff and on information security. 

The course includes practical classes on activities that the personnel of pass offices is in charge, on preparing and conducting all types of inspections, including the work of guards at checkpoints. Inspection analysis is followed by documented reports, development of proposals to improve the access control system at the facility.
