The session of the Russia - IAEA Nuclear Knowledge Management School completed at Saint Petersburg branch of Rosatom Tech. 25 participants from 12 countries including Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia and Uzbekistan attended the School.
Within the framework of the School, participants had a specialized training on the development and implementation of nuclear knowledge management programmes in organizations engaged in nuclear science and technology. The programme covered various aspects of nuclear knowledge management such as processes and tools, challenges and benefits, the influence of organizational culture, the relationship with human resource development, and the use of information technology for knowledge preservation and sharing.
The lecture sessions were complemented by daily group work with mentors. At the last day each group presented its project on the implementation and use of nuclear knowledge management tools in organizations involved in nuclear science and technology. At the end of the School, an exam was held, according to the results of which all participants received certificates.
The School started with an opening remarks by the expert of the Nuclear Knowledge Management Section of the IAEA Department of Nuclear Energy, Ms Helena Zhivitskaya and Director of the Center for International Cooperation of the Rosatom Technical Academy, Mr Viktor Mazepov.
The expert staff of the School from the Russian side was represented by Ms Yulia Chernyakhovskaya (JSC Rusatom Service), Maria Afanasyeva (JSC Afrikantov OKBM), Eduard Volkov (ONIC Prognoz), and Evgeny Kulikov (NRNU MEPhI).

Building, collecting, transferring, sharing, preserving, maintaining and utilizing knowledge is essential to developing and keeping the necessary technical expertise and competences required for nuclear power programmes and other nuclear technology.
This year Rosatom Technical Academy is hosting the regular Russian-IAEA School for Nuclear Knowledge Management for the third time. The Russian IAEA Schools are held within the framework of an extra-budgetary contribution of the Russian Federation for the implementation of technical cooperation projects for the development of nuclear infrastructure. Traditionally the Schools are organized by the Center for International Cooperation of the Rosatom Technical Academy.
