The International Summer School on Safety Culture was сonducted by Rosatom CICET in Sanct-Petersburg – “culture capital” of Russian Federation 30 June-03 July, 2014. Totally there were 40 participants from both Russia and abroad. Rosatom CICET has already become a well recognized platform to share practical experience in Safety Culture management and governance. Among the topics discussed by participant were the following: ROSATOM policy on Safety Culture development, Specifics of training in Safety Culture issues for instructor, Safety Culture Management approaches and tools used at Nuclear Power Plants, Tools to form a strong Safety Culture for nuclear personnel, Social-psychological investigations as a resource for Safety Culture enhancement, Safety Culture measurement, Root Cause Analysis: Safety Culture issues; Knowledge Management – tool for Safety Culture Improvement.
The IAEA view on safety culture assessment and systematic approach to safety was delivered by Ms. Monica Haage (IAEA, Dpt. Nuclear Safety&Security).
Importance of Safety Culture for embarking countries was accentuated by Dr.Thong (Vietnam) who particularly stressed the issue of cross-cultural communications.
