About Forum

From October 7 to 11, 2024, the XVIII International Nuclear Forum "Safety of Nuclear Technologies: Transportation of Radioactive Materials" (ATOMTRANS-2024) will be held at the St. Petersburg branch of Rosatom Technical Academy. For more than 18 years, this event has served as a unique platform for discussion of topical issues, exchange of opinions, presentation of the latest technologies and best practices for ensuring safety in the use of nuclear energy. This event is traditionally attended by leaders and specialists from federal executive authorities, representatives from international organizations, Russian and international businesses, and the academic community.

Forum Goals

To discuss national and international experience, the current state and prospects of the transportation of various types of radioactive materials, as one of the essential and most significant stages in the utilization of atomic energy and radiation technologies across various industries, including medicine, agriculture and scientific research.

Additionally, it is planned to address relatively new topics such as the use of dual-purpose packaging kits for storage and transportation, transportation of floating nuclear power plants and small modular reactors with fresh and spent nuclear fuel.

• National and international experience, prospects of radioactive material transportation, cross-border shipments;
• Activities of state competent authority for nuclear and radiation safety, related to transportation of radioactive materials, state regulatory authorities in the use of atomic energy, transport authorities and customs matters; 
• Activities of international organizations and international projects; 
• Transport packagings for various types of radioactive materials, including design, manufacturing, testing, and safety justification;
• Transport conveyances, technologies and logistics, tracking and monitoring at radioactive material shipments;
• Accidents and emergency response, risk assessment and nuclear insurance of radioactive materials shipments; 
• Development of industrial transport infrastructure;
• Human resource in the area of radioactive material transport; 
• Contribution of nuclear veterans in ensuring the safe development of nuclear power and radiation technologies
• Safety culture 

Participants

Working Language and Procedure

Forum agenda includes plenary and breakout sessions and roundtables. Forum venue is the St. Petersburg Branch of Rosatom Technical Academy.

Duration of the presentations at the plenary session is limited to 20 minutes, at the breakout sessions - 15 to 20 minutes.

Working languages: Russian and English, simultaneous interpretation will be provided

Registration fee

The registration fee is RUB 30,000 (including 20% VAT/ RUB 5,000). This fee covers participation in the business program, oral presentation, information materials package, invitation to the official reception, coffee breaks, and technical tours. 

The participant submits the completed registration form to the Forum secretariat. Upon the receipt the Forum secretariat sends the participant via email an invoice for payment and an agreement for approval and signature. The participant must notify the Forum secretariat of the invoice payment.

Sponsor packages and fees

In 2024, International Nuclear Forum offers two types of sponsor packages:

GENERAL SPONSOR PACKAGE (RUB 300,000):

•   Participation in the Forum with presentation at the plenary session and any breakout sessions; 

•   Presentation during the plenary session;

•   Three representatives from the organization will be able to participate in Forum;

•   Sponsor's logo in the information materials.

OFFICIAL SPONSOR PACKAGE (RUB 200,000): 

•   Participation in the Forum with presentation at the plenary session and any breakout sessions;

•   Presentation during the plenary session;

•   Sponsor's logo on the event banner and in the program of the forum; 

•   Sponsor's logo in the information materials;

•   Two representatives from the organization will be able to participate in Forum.

Accommodation, logistics, insurance

All expenses for accommodation, medical insurance and transportation should be covered by the participants.

Upon the receipt of the registration form, Forum secretariat will send the organizational information, including the preliminary agenda of the forum, transportation details and recommended accommodation information.
