The first International School "A new technology platform: the way to green energy" is scheduled to take place in Sochi from October 16 to 20, 2023, in a hybrid format.
The School is being implemented in the Russian Federation by the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM within the framework of the Project Direction PRORYV.
The main objective of the International School
to dessiminate the knowledge on the Two-Component Nuclear Power System (TCNPS) based on thermal and fast reactors, as well as advanced Closed Nuclear Fuel Cycle (CNFC) technologies that eliminate spent nuclear fuel accumulation, use of the energy potential of natural/raw uranium, increase resistance to proliferation, thereby making such an energy system sustainable.
Participation in the School will provide a comprehensive understanding of the requirements for such technologies, key issues and ways to solve them for the formation ofsustainable nuclear energy system.
The School’s format
lectures by leading Russian experts and representatives of international organizations, such as the IAEA,
group work,
and a technical tour to familiarize participants with the process of designing advanced technological frameworks of spent nuclear fuel reprocessing and production of fresh fuel from reprocessed materials.
The School program provides the opportunity to attend thematic sections of the Project Direction "Proryv" Project conference which is held every two years by State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” and JSC “Proryv”.
The School's target audience
young professionals with managerial potential from IAEA Member States.
Participation in such a one-of-a-kind event will provide the opportunity to learn international communication skills and develop the competencies required to support the development of national nuclear power programs that take advanced nuclear technologies into account.
