The mentoring workshop is in line with the initiatives being undertaken by countries around the world to ensure that expertise is maintained in highly technical areas such as nuclear safety, radiological protection and other critical disciplines. Capacity-building efforts focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields need to be sustained and reinforced.
The first mentoring workshop in Russia was held in 2019 for students of the NRNU MEPhI. In 2021, in the context of a pandemic in a remote format, mentoring workshops were held in Kenya, Japan and Russia - http://rosatomtech.com/6824-2/
The event is a good exercise of working in international teams, studying role models of successful career development for young female students.
