Call for applications – NPPs with SMR: Main Aspects and Life-cycle

Rosatom Technical Academy and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev invite you to participate in the “Train-the-Trainers” course “NPPs with SMR: Main Aspects and Life-cycle”.

About the course

The course is developed to improve the professional level of specialists in the field of nuclear power engineering, to enhance their knowledge in the area of NPPs with SMR operation and equipment, to study the issues of promising small power NPP safety. 

Eligibility

The course is designed for professors, lecturers, researchers as well as post-graduate students and specialists in the field of nuclear power and mechanical engineering, operation of modern NPPs who are interested in developing nuclear curriculum and educational programmes at universities in Rosatom partner countries.

The number of participants is limited, the selection of candidates will be made by the organizers on competitive basis.

The main topics of the course:

  • Promising low power pressurized water reactors,

  • Main equipment and safety systems of NPPs with RITM-200N,

  • Non-power applications of NPPs with SMR,

  • Technologies for the RW and SNF management of NPPs with SMR,

  • Issues of personnel training for NPPs with SMR.

The practical part of the training includes laboratory works and technical tours to enterprises producing fuel and equipment for NPPs with SMR.

Dates: 24th—28th March 2025 (40 academic hours)

Format: in-person (Obninsk, Russia) or online

Language of instruction: Russian and English

Fees and grants

The training is free of charge for selected candidates. 

The applicants could apply for getting a grant covering the cost of flights to and from the training site and accommodation.

Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of achievement.
